Well as 2009 and our first year of marriage come to a close, I have been thinking about what I want to do with the next year. Among the list of things that I would like to accomplish:
- get my Etsy store (cozydesigns.etsy.com) fully functional and running
- Finally settle into a dinner-cooking system that works for us
- Reduce our eco footprint as much as possible
- Plan and stick to a budget
- Get out of debt! (I'll think about finishing my masters after I've paid off the student loan we've already got)
I figured I would start blogging to keep track of my progress and share my successes/failures. Maybe other people will learn from me. Maybe nobody will ever read this blog but myself. Who knows? All I know is that I want to improve our lives in the next year, and not necessarily by getting jobs that make more money (everybody knows that the more money you make, the more you spend on things like cable and cars and a nicer house, etc).
Now there are some things worth spending money on. For example, Jordan and I are going to the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra tonight as my Christmas present. However, we're also sitting in the nosebleed seats, and that's ok with me. I think that we can find ways to have fun and experience life without spending money on things that are unimportant and wasteful. I'm excited about where this new focus will take us, and I look forward to the ride!
